Increase Your Clientele and Build Your Margin of Profit Don't know which way to turn? Do you have the right tools? In this issue of RN MARKET NEWS ...
What is the difference between Custom Web sites, Templates, and Web Builders? When paying someone to build your Web site, it is important to know a little about how they are building it. There are several ways a Web site can be created. The first method is to custom create your site. This means the site is made from scratch. This includes all designs, backgrounds, text, and sometimes programming code. It is the professional method that all Webmasters should be using. The next method is to use a Template. Templates are Web pages where everything is preformatted and all that needs to be done is to add text, insert images, and change the theme colors. With Templates, the changes have to be made through the program code. The last method is to use a Web Builder. A Web Builder is a program that takes you step-by-step through the building process. They also utilize Templates. However, Web Builders take you through steps so you don't have to mess with any programming. Web Builders can be bought in stores or found online. Which one do you need? Each method has had its plusses and minuses. Custom sites sometimes take a little longer to build and don't look as professional if not done by a professional Webmaster. However, this is the best method because it can be made exactly to your specifications, if made by someone who knows what they are doing. This is good for you because you can have your site theme match any materials you have such as letterhead, business cards, or logos. Templates are good because they help you create a site in less time and they require moderate Web knowledge to use. However, Templates are limited when it comes time to customize your site and they can be reused several times. They are made using a "cookie cutter" format. Many Web site designers will reuse a Template and just change the colors and images. Therefore, your site may have the same look as many others. This is not good for your image because it is not original and does not help to brand your business. Web Builders are made for people with minimal Web knowledge. They also create Web sites very quickly. However, since they use Templates for their designs, they have the same disadvantages as listed above under Templates. In addition, if the Web Builder isn't designed well, the site will look cheap, unprofessional and may have design imperfections that cannot be corrected. WINNER OF THE "NAME OUR HURRICANE KITTEN" CONTEST
Here are some of the responses. Of course, the most obvious and frequent response we received was Charley! Here are some others that we received that we thought were great: Ghost, Storm, Stormy, Hurricane, Thunder, Fraidy Cat, Scardy Cat, and Windy. Third place went to Diana Iversen, from The Empire Group out of Cucamonga, CA. She had a unique name worth mentioning, Sabo. Her name was not related to the hurricane but it was different. Sabo is the name of a very popular Spanish singer from Spain. She will receive a $25. gift certificate. Second place went to Melanie Nicholl, from Principle, MedLegal Resources out of Newton, MA, with the name Poseidon. Poseidon was the Greek mythological god of the sea, earthquakes, and horses. He spent his time in his watery domain. Poseidon was given all water, both fresh and salt. We are sending her a copy of our book, "The LNC Marketing Handbook". Melanie, send us your address via email to get your book. And the winner is...Ginny Starke! The AALNC Director at Large for the St. Louis Chapter of AALNCs. She gave us the perfect name for our kitten, Orbit!! She wrote, "Apparently, the little guy managed the eye of the storm. Amazing. A tiny untouched heart amidst the chaos." He orbits all over the office. He definitely is not afraid of anything which is why he probably made it through four hurricane's so far in his short life, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. Banner Displays & Advertisements Banner Displays are graphically designed table-top displays generally used for displaying your services at a convention or seminar. You pick up your display from your local Kinko's or Signs Now location where we send the design for printing. Your design is printed and mounted on foam core with an easel back at an affordable price to you. Custom advertisements can be designed for advertising your services in magazines or newspapers.
