WHERE HAS RN
MARKET NEWS BEEN?
We wanted to apologize to all of you who
have been asking, calling and emailing us about not receiving RN MARKET
NEWS. We were handling the great big rush of clients that we received
over the past few months and between traveling, exhibiting, writing and
producing materials for our clients, we were unable to get our
Newsletter out.
The good news is that we are back on track.
The better news is that we have come up with some new products, books,
seminars, conferences, workshops, and more that we will be letting you
in on each month. The best news is that we sold out of almost all of our
books in just one year. We have only a handful of LCP Marketing
Handbooks and LNC Marketing Handbooks left. If you have not gotten a
copy of one of these books, you may want to purchase one before they are
retired. The second editions will contain over 100 more pages of
information and will be going to press next month. We will let you know
when they will be available for purchase. In the meantime, if you don't
have the First Edition, give us a call before we are sold out!
TIPS & TRICKS TO
EXHIBITING ON A BUDGET
O.K., so now you have decided to exhibit at
a convention to get more clients.
You will first need to decide on what items
need to be purchased and how much time you have to purchase the items
that you will need for exhibiting. Make sure whatever you purchase can
be ready with plenty of time left prior to the exhibit date.
You will need a display, marketing materials
to pass out that tell about your business, a PowerPoint or Flash
presentation for the tabletop, some giveaways such as pens or candy and
a great door prize or two so you can get them to place their business
cards in a bowl for you so that you are able to follow-up with them
after the conference.
Go to a professional, but don't try to go
over your budget. As long as what you have is professional, you do not
need the best materials. You need something that is going to attract
visitors, not distract them. You can purchase an intro and services and
place them in a large envelope with a large label or you can place these
items in a presentation folder. You can also purchase CV, fee schedules
and sample work products. You can purchase some pens and some
candy, but be careful with too many promo items. It can make your table
look too cluttered. You can get a banner for the top of the table. We
suggest getting two. We do the graphic design to match your items, and
we can also use pictures and color to spice up your banners. The banners
are printed out at your local printer and take only a few days to order,
create, and print. Turn around time can be as quick as 48 hours. We can
also create your PowerPoint or Flash Presentation quickly. All you have
to do is purchase it online and send us the information or give us a
call.
Find out how many people will be exhibiting
and have enough items for each person. If they expect 400 people, have
500 items ready just in case. You can always use the other 100 items as
mail outs to get some direct mail marketing done after the conference.
If they are providing a skirted table, you
are set. Place the banner displays on each side of the table with the
bowl in the middle but off to the side for their cards. Have the promo
items easy to reach and neat on the table with your marketing items in
the presentation folders. You can have the PowerPoint Presentation or
Flash Presentation in the middle off to the other side of the table for
symmetry. If they are not going to skirt your table or you want to
attract even more attention to your table, you may want to
purchase a custom tablecloth with your logo printed on it. Just ask us
about it, we can help.
Stand, do not sit! If you are standing more
people will come to your table. Ask questions and mingle. Introduce
yourself and hand out the packets if they are not coming to you. Once
you have someone's attention at your table, others want to know what is
going on and they join in. Make sure you give as many people your
information as possible and also ask for their information. Ask them
questions about themselves and they will then ask about you. This is
when you give them your 30 second speech. Try to keep their attention
and try to get your first case!!
After you are done with the conference, you
need to follow-up with a post card, an introduction brochure, a
newsletter, a marketing packet or a thank you note. Send it out on the
following Saturday and follow-up with a phone call on that Friday after
you send it out. Try to get an appointment with the attorney to come in
to speak further or to get a case!!

FAX FACTS, HOW TO
SEND A FAX?
Many of our clients who are just getting
started with their business are unfamiliar with some of the essential
office tools they may need. One of those office tools they may be unsure
about is the fax machine. There are a couple of ways you can send a fax.
No matter which method you use, the one thing you always need is a phone
line.
The first way to send a fax is the customary
method that involves buying a fax machine. Fax machines can be purchased
for under $100 these days depending on how many extra functions it has.
Some have copiers, telephones and answering machines built in.
It is always best to consult your
instruction manual before sending a fax if you have a fax machine. Every
machine has the same basic steps though. First, insert the sheets you
want to fax in the fax tray or slot making sure they are facing the
right direction. There is usually an illustration on the machine that
will tell you which way should be face up. If the sheets are not facing
the right direction, the fax will come up blank when received on the
other end. After the sheets are in place, enter the fax number you want
to send the fax to and press the Send/Start. Your fax should now be
sending. Again make sure you follow the instruction manual for detailed
instructions for your machine.
The other way to send a fax is to use your
computer. This method is good if space is limited in your office. If you
have a laptop, the fax software should already be installed. If you are
using Windows, open the Start menu, go to Accessories, and look under
Communications for the Fax Console. It should be in that general area.
Some desktop computers come with the fax
software as well. However, if the software is not installed on your
computer, you can purchase the software from your local computer store
or online. They are usually cheaper than fax machines but can be more
expensive if they have a lot of extra features. These fax programs can
send or receive faxes through the phone lines like a fax machine. The
difference is, the faxes you send need to be computer files instead of
sheets of paper. With the fax software, you can select any file from
your computer and fax it.
Most fax programs work the same but, again,
be sure to consult your manual. If you are using Microsoft Fax Console,
you would select the file you want to fax and select Print in the file
menu. When the Print menu comes up select Fax from the printer list and
set any other options you need. This will convert your file to fax
format and will open the Fax Console Wizard. Enter the fax number you
are sending the fax to and any other necessary information you want to
send with the fax. It will take you through step by step including
making a cover sheet. When you push Finish the fax will send. This
should give you an idea of what your fax options are when setting up
your office. Happy Faxing!
